Omg, I've been having interesting time (well, as interesting as it can get at this point in time, that is). I even have a special topic today! Last night's debate. Dun dun dun....

Anyway, first things first.
On Monday, I had a jap test (reading and writing). Today, I had a jap test (listening). Mext Monday, I have a jap test (speaking). Hmmm.... you'd think we'd be able to get through these tests quickly too.

Basketball is tiring.... but it's okay. It's not that bad. Heh, Adam came 20mins late because he thought we were at the school courts and not the stadium. Damian switched into basketball too. We're going to have a push-up competition. Bring it on, ay? .

We had the ICAS (I-C-AS) maths competition on Tuesday. So failed that since it didn't seem that hard. There was the Westpac competition today as well, but I didn't pay for it so I didn't do it. Heh, the rest of us who didn't pay we just playing cards for the whole of Science today. So I don't think I made that much of a lost.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, I couldn't print off my speech" is what I said to my English teacher on Monday. Which was true. I didn't know that my printer was going to be stuffing up so I couldn't print it off. And I also didn't know that one of the school printers wouldn't be stuffed as well. So my excuse is not an excuse, it is a reason and explanation. But I did my speech on Wednesday. Urgh....

Oh, in social dance on Tuesday, we had a Snow Ball. Kinda funny. Otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to have Aly-Yi. That's an awesome name, Aly-Yi.

But moving on over to debating. Our topic was that our generation needs corporal punishment, we were the Affirmative and were against Guildford Grammar School. However, this was a make-up round, so instead of it being at Perth College, it was instead at St Mary's. Which was near the beach somewhere. And it took us a bit more than half an hour to get there from Adam's house.

Anyway, we got there on time, entered our room, only to find out that the opposing team had filled out the sheets wrong, putting their name into the Affirmative part instead of the Negative part. Both of them. Real smart, ey? You'd think of them would notice.

First speaker was Damian, after much arguing and persuading. It was either me or Damian. Adam and Alyson were supposed to judge who was the better speaker, but once we got down to that, Damian said he was fine with the speech and so he ended up being first speaker anyway. And besides, all the other speeches had "he" in them to reference to the first speech, and we didn't have the time to change them all the "she". xD
Even with a not-so subtle slowing down technique after hearing the warning bell, he finished off nicely, but with no bowing this time.

Then came the opposition, who actually challenged our definition because it was too narrow and saying that we should include home life as well as the educational side of things. But this didn't do them much good since they didn't really talk much about the home side of things. But anyway, his rebuttals weren't all that great. They were blown waaaaaay out of proportion and assumed waaaay too many illogical things.

Second up, Alyson, who spent three and a half minutes on rebuttals, and went overtime, Although it was all good. Her rebuttals kinda made the oppositions case go "ka-pow". She even refused the challenge and had lots of fun saying "The United Nations Declaration of Human Rights states...." and so on.

Second speaker of Guildford .... uhmmm.... well, yeah. His rebuttal was like, less than 30 seconds. I wasn't even sure when he started or even stopped.... Everything he said had already been addressed by Alyson....

I'm proud of Adam. He only said "let me remind you" three times during the time he was rebutting. It's a new record. The oppositions case had already been torn apart by Alyson, so all he did was shred it even more.

Now, the last speaker of Guildford. There was a big contrast to him and the other speakers. The other speakers sounded more mature than him, even though he was probably the best speaker on the team. He was a kid.... "It is too!" He even sounded like a kid. And like a kid, he introduced a new point in his speech. Big no-no in debating. What he's supposed to do is attack our case, which he kinda did and didn't. He skipped heaps of our points in his rebuttals, and his rebuttals only went on for less than two minutes (I know all this time thing because I was the chairperson and timekeeper :D). He also has six bank accounts. I don't why the hell he would want to do that but hey, just thought you might like to know.

Anyway, all in all, we won against a yr9 team. And want some yr8 ass.

None of us ate chilli, although Damian was taught how to use chopsticks at dinner.

Everyone happy.

I should really be doing my maths homework, but if I don't do this, I'll forget. And I'm sure all you would love to hear about the first day of term 3 at school.

First session was basketball, which I'm seriously considering to switch out of, since the class is all boys except for me and another girl. And I found out that the Yr9 class was going to participate in some lessons with my class. One of the things we have to do is coach them....
Plus, I got my badminton class which I can't really wait for. xD
So hopefully, there'll be a decent class for me to switch into. Maybe a food class, even though I'm not really into that kind of thing.

Second session was PE, which meant social dance for us. But before we danced, the teachers talked about the Yr11 PE and Health courses, which was kinda too late since some of us already had our course councillor meeting today to decide which subjects we're going to do (even if we could change it later). We learnt the Cha Cha. Even though it was one of the first dances I learnt when I was in Yr6+7. So far, there has only been one dance that I haven't been taught, and I don't know the name of it since I was getting a needle when the class was learning it.

Third session, maths! After a mix up of classroom (teacher told us that we were in a different room before last term ended, so we all went to that room only to find out that the school made a mistake and that we are actually in the same room as last semester), we revised, wait for it .... QUADRATIC EQUATIONS!! Fun fun fun!
Even though I don't know how we can revise it seeing as we never done them in class. T_T
Meh.

But I had to leave before 3rd session ended, because of my course councillor meeting (which was right after Sheryl's too!) for subject selections in Yr11. I was shocked. My mum was actually on time! She's mostly late all of the time. Especially the time when it was the Parent Teacher Interview. =.=
Anyway, we went into the front office, only to see Sheryl-chan and her parents coming out. :D
Most of the time was just the councillor talking and explaining, even though I already knew most of the stuff because of my older brother and sisters. I was done in 15 minutes even though most meetings go on for 30 minutes, which made Alyson think it was time for her meeting.
My subjects for next year are:
Chemistry
Economics
English Literature
Japanese
Maths
Politics and Law

S+E, there's nothing much to talk about really. Pretty much strategies about finding the needed information.

Fifth and last session, science. Teacher had to go and prepare some sheets for some other classes and said he'll only take "five minutes", handed out a worksheet for us to do in the meantime and off he went. More than half an hour passed and he finally came back. It must be something about science teachers and time. They're either always late to class, or go out of the class for more than what they say.

And now I should get back to my homework, which I have been neglecting for quite a while.

Ja ne!

Well, life hasn't been that interesting, but since I've gone out since the last time I posted and it's the last day, I might as well waste some time before it's all workworkworkwork your ass off again.

Anyway, Thursday/Friday, I have no idea but I did go out somewhere.... just not too sure where. Also, my days did get blurred, and I was a day behind somehow. I thought Saturday was Friday, and nobody bothered to correct me. I had to party to go to on Sunday and I was supposed to be there at 11am. Since I thought it was Saturday, I didn't get up until dad told me to get up... and it was already 11. So yeah... I would of thought today was Sunday instead of Monday.... I would of gone to the wrong class on the first day back. So sad -.-

Well, today I did go to school even though it was pupil free day. I went for moral support for the Solar Car presentation... and I also went for the free food. xD It's all good. Plus, I didn't want to stay at home all day so yeah, I'm hoping that I'm going out somewhere later today, though I highly doubt it at the moment.

Oh, and I need a banzai. I actually sorted out my school stuff! Amazing hey?

So yeah, pretty uneventful. But then again, it's my life we're talking about here.

Btw, I've finished Hana Kimi, Taiwanese and Japanese versions. I'm currently reading the manga.... talk about obsessed. But I can't wait for the special epi of Hanazakiri no Kimitachi e to come out. Looking forward to it!

Wish me luck for school! Yr11 subject selections on the first day back too.... urgh.

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

Well, this will be a pretty long post since I haven't updated for aaaaaggggeeeeesssss. And it's the holidays too. Normally, I would of stayed home the majority of time. But this doesn't seem to be the case for this holiday.

I went out to eat dim sum with both my grandma's and my great auntie, which my brother paid for (I think). The restaurant's siew mai improved a lot since I last went. The last time I went, it was effing crap.. I didn't want to eat it and siew mai is my favourite dim sum too. The yaw ye soe was very nice, but my brother, sisters and me weren't happy about our non-existent second plate of it. -.-
After eating, my brother, sisters and I took my grandma on my dad's side to go shopping at Garden City while my mum went around somewhere else with my other grandma and great auntie.
Anyway, we reached Garden City were my brother was letting Leanne choose her birthday present. She eventually decided on a black bomber jacket that costed $89.95, while I got a pair of grey arm warmers that were down from $20 to $5 ... contrasting much?

Then there was a conversation that went along the lines of:
Grandma: How much was the jacket?
Leanne: It was $90. But bro paid for it.
Grandma: Oh, that's okay then.

Awesome much?

Then on Sunday, my sisters and I went out to the city. Leanne had Nando's, me and Fiona had dim sum at Jade Dynasty. Of course, there was yaw ye soe, har go, har gau and siew mai. And I pigged out on siew mai.
We walked around for a bit, buying super sour peach lollies that weren't really sour, looking at games, etc before heading back to the car.
Remember when I said I pigged out on siew mai? I should of said overdosed myself..... nothing got dirty, just the inside of the bag....

Monday I went out somewhere but I forget where. But I think it was Garden City since I saw a teacher looking at shoes with her mum. 0.o

Tuesday, I stayed home.

Wednesday, I went out for dim sum (yet again) with mum, dad, Fiona and Leanne. We didn't walk around the city this time, but went to UWA instead since Fiona needed to get some books for her courses... which took some time since the old guy there was one of those overly nice people who does everything for you even if it isn't necessary. Btw, if you're a LOTE student in Yr10, some UWA language students might be coming over to your class trying to get you to continue studying your language for TEE. Just a little bit of useless information that you might want to know, even though it's useless.

Thursday, I met up with Cass and I introduced her to Nando's. Can't believe the girl hadn't been to Nando's before then. And I bought Uno cards for $3. Bargain. I think....

Friday, I went out to Garden City with Sheryl, Angelyn and Alyson. The first person I see after them three was our English teacher. 0.o
So we walked around, tried on clothes, etc etc.
I had pasta for lunch. You would think my months long craving would have ended right there and then, ey? Well, the pasta was effing bullcrap. So I'm still craving pasta. >.<
We went grocery shopping (for snacks to eat at Angelyn's new house). We got out of Woolworths, only to see Matt wondering around, trying to find his friends.... yet again. Second last day of school was a half day, and he was wondering around the shops trying to locate his friends. I dno how he lost them in the first place though...
Back to Garden City, we left Matt to go catch the bus to Angelyn's place. Since the transport system has changed, we had to catch a bus to a train station, take the train, then take another bus. Then walk all the way to Angelyn's house.

Yeah. We made it all in one piece though. I take care of which buses to take, and Angelyn plans the walk. See? Teamwork here!

Yeah, we opened some of the food, and started watching Fahrenheit, Danson and Lollypop. We started on Virgin Snow, had dinner (pizza and KFC anyone? Fat fat fat fat fat fat fat but tastes gooooooood). Pretty much bawling out eyes out at the end of Virgin Snow. Kya~! Virgin Snow so good lah. Not to mention Min is pretty cute. xD
Then we started on another movie. I forgot what it was called. I only watched the beginning since my dad was there to pick me up... Alyson and Sheryl were sleeping over. I texted them an hour after I left (cos I knew they were watching a movie and wouldn't interrupt them). Took a while for Sheryl to text back because they were too busy crying.
We love our love stories.

And a random thingy that happened, I finally got some drama! Hana Kimi (both Japanese and Taiwanese version) and Devil Beside You.

Saturday, we were supposed to have dim sum with my grandma's and great auntie again, but they cancelled last minute. So we went to Northbridge instead to have dim sum at the restaurant opposite the train station. xD This time, we had two plates of yaw ye soe. Yatta!
Then my brother wanted to go to his workplace for a couple of hours. Have no idea why though. Mum went back home by public transport, my bro took the car to go to work, so me and my sisters went to Timezone, DDRed and played the drum game. Finally passed Max 300!

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday I stayed home.

And today, had lunch at Yuki's with Zoe, Rohita, Angelyn and Alyson. We waited for a long time to be served and to get our food (more than half an hour). In the end, the bill came to $70.50... expensive stuff there. Really expensive. But the food is nice.
Then I bought four sticks of green tea ice cream (it was Buy 3 Get 1 free), and off we walked to Zoe's house.
We talked, took photos, made cookies, fried the egg yolk with mayo, Nando's peri-peri sauce, soy sauce, BBQ sauce, tomato sauce and lime juice. With sprinkles! It tasted like something but we weren't really sure what... But the cookies were goooood.

And I beat my old record of Gundam Seed in three days. Devil Besides You in less than two days. And thus, I beat Sheryl. *bows*

No wonder I haven't done any school work.

xD
